Frequently Asked Questions

The questions we get asked most, answered the way we would answer them on your driveway.

Still Unsure

If your question is not here

The questions above are the ones we field most often, but roofs are specific and yours may not fit any of them neatly. Call us and ask — we answer questions without a quote attached, and we would rather spend ten minutes on the phone than have you make an expensive decision on incomplete information.

If you are weighing quotes from several contractors, a few questions are worth asking all of them: is the workmanship warranty in writing and how long does it run, who actually performs the work, what happens if rotten decking is found, and is the company local enough that the warranty means something in five years.

The answers to those four tell you most of what you need to know about a roofing quote, considerably more than the headline price does.

Inspections and estimates

Is the inspection really free?

Yes — the inspection, photographs and written report cost nothing and carry no obligation.

How quickly can someone come out?

Usually the same day or the next. Active leaks get priority, so call rather than emailing if water is coming in.

Will you tell me if my roof is fine?

Yes, and it happens often. We would rather be the company you call in three years than the one that sold you a roof you did not need.

Storm damage and insurance

How do I know if I have storm damage?

Frequently you cannot tell from the ground, which is the core of the problem. Hail bruises the mat under the granules and wind breaks the adhesive seal without moving the shingle. Both need someone on the roof to identify.

How long do I have to file a claim?

It depends on your policy, but there is always a limit tied to the storm date. Do not assume you have unlimited time — get the roof assessed while the window is open.

Do you attend the adjuster visit?

Yes, at no charge. It is the hour in which the claim is effectively decided, and it is the single most useful thing we do for a claim.

Do I still pay my deductible?

Yes. Any contractor offering to cover it for you is proposing insurance fraud, which in Georgia puts your claim and you at risk.

The work itself

How long does a replacement take?

Around 95% are finished in one day including cleanup. Steeper, larger or more complex roofs can run into a second day, and we tell you which yours is before starting.

What happens if you find rotten decking?

We replace it. It is hidden until tear-off, so we agree the rate with you up front rather than surprising you on the day.

Can you match my existing shingles for a repair?

Usually closely, rarely exactly. Colors weather and product lines change. We will show you the match before installing it.

What warranty do I get?

A lifetime workmanship warranty from us on the installation, plus the manufacturer's warranty on the materials.

About RoofMax

How long have you been in business?

Since 2010, roofing homes and commercial properties across Georgia.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, fully insured, BBB accredited with an A+ rating, and our inspectors hold Haag certification for residential roof damage assessment.

What areas do you serve?

Alpharetta and the north metro Atlanta area — Roswell, Milton, Johns Creek, Cumming, Marietta, Woodstock, Sandy Springs and Duluth. If you are just outside, call and we will tell you honestly.

Do you do commercial work?

Yes, low-slope and flat roof systems for small and mid-size commercial properties alongside our residential work.

Costs and payment

How much will my roof cost?

It depends on size, pitch, complexity and material, and any roofer quoting before seeing the roof is guessing. What we can promise is a fixed written figure after the inspection, with the decking rate agreed in advance so nothing is negotiated while your roof is open.

Do you offer financing?

Ask us when we quote. Options vary and we would rather discuss what genuinely fits your situation than advertise a headline rate that may not apply to you.

When do I pay?

Normal practice is a deposit at scheduling and the balance on completion. If insurance is involved the sequence follows the claim, typically the first check up front and the recoverable depreciation once the work is finished and invoiced.

Is the cheapest quote a bad sign?

Not automatically, but understand what is behind it. Check whether the quote includes underlayment, drip edge, valley protection and new pipe boots, or only shingles and labor. Quotes that look very different in price often turn out to be quotes for different jobs.
